Apostles Serve

Isaiah 49:6                                                                                                                                                                                                         And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

Isaiah is prophesying about Christ apostolic mission to Israel.

God address Christ as His servant. There’s a continual emphasis on the apostle’s ministry as one of serving.  Apostles possess an internal drive to minister to those whom they are sent.

Raising up the tribes of Jacob was part of Christ mission to Israel. This is a picture of training and equipping. Apostles are concerned about the development and elevation of those they are sent to.

The works of restoration and preservation of Israel was also an aspect of Christ apostolic mission. Apostles are burdened with restoration of all things.  They have a preserving aspect to their ministries. They are set to protect, nurture and watch over works delegated to their care.

Christ was commissioned to release Light and Salvation to the Gentiles (Nations). This was the crescendo of His calling.

Apostles today will have this DNA marker for nations and the mission field.  They will be found investing in missions continually with the intent of bringing Light and Salvation to the nations.
